2025 Snowbound Winners
AUBURN — The Auburn Arts Commission has announced the winners of the 2025 Snowbound Writers’ Contest.
Winning first place in poetry was Darcy Armstrong of Fort Wayne. Second place in poetry went to Dee Wilhem of Butler and Michelle Hauter of Waterloo received third place.
First place in the fiction and prose division went to Dee Wilhem of Butler. BreAnn Weeks of Albion received second place and Mary Burris of Auburn placed third. Toni Sangillo and Kenneth Hummell received honorable mention.
The Auburn Arts Commission has sponsored a Snowbound Writers’ contest annually since 1994. Anyone 18 years or older who is a resident of or is employed in DeKalb County is eligible to enter the contest. Prizes are first place, $150; second place, $75.00; and third place, $50 in prose and in poetry.
Entries were received from Waterloo, Butler, Auburn, Fort Wayne and Albion. Judging this year was done by Fort Wayne author, journalist, radio and television personality Blake Sebring.
